T-shaft
This T-shaped part operates in a very demanding space. The T-shaft connects either between the steering column and the intermediate shaft or directly to the steering gear. Its T-shape means it must withstand forces from multiple directions at once: axial forces (pushing and pulling), radial forces (spinning), and torque (bending). It is truly a multi-functional component in a complex environment.
Product Introduction
One Piece, No Weak Welds
This T-shaped part operates in a very demanding space. The T-shaft connects either between the steering column and the intermediate shaft or directly to the steering gear. Its T-shape means it must withstand forces from multiple directions at once: axial forces (pushing and pulling), radial forces (spinning), and torque (bending). It is truly a multi-functional component in a complex environment.
In the past, some designers welded a T-shaped head onto a rod or fixed it with rivets. We don't do that. Our product is made as one solid piece: the head and the rod have no welds and no rivets. Why? Experience with clients like APEX in Australia showed us that welded joints can crack over time under constant vibration. Applying this knowledge to auto parts gives a much higher safety margin.
Forged in One Hit for Strength
What makes a product difficult to produce? The head is much wider than the rod, and the shape is irregular. Machining it from a single bar wastes material and time, while welding introduces weak points.
Our method: We use 20# or 45# steel, sometimes preheated depending on the product. The steel is placed in a closed mold inside a 200–500 ton press. Immense pressure forces the metal to flow and fill every corner of the T-shaped head and rod. Key technical points include:
• One-piece construction: The head and rod are formed from a single piece, with no weak connection zones.
• Continuous metal grain: Metal fibers flow naturally along the T-shape, unlike in welded joints.
• IT8–IT9 precision grade: Critical mating surfaces (such as where bearings or universal joints mount) are consistent in size, ensuring minimal assembly gaps.
Compared to traditional "rod + welded head" methods, our cold-forged product is 20–30% stronger. Material utilization exceeds 90%, with almost no metal wasted.
Why Choose Our T-Shaft?
The one-piece construction means the T-head and rod are seamlessly connected, with metal fibers running continuously from end to end. In demanding conditions, such as frequent steering in large SUVs or pickup trucks, this product has no welds that can fatigue or crack - a fundamental safety requirement.
It also mates precisely with other parts, including cross shafts, bearings, and universal joints. Any dimensional instability can cause looseness or "clunk" noises over time. Our mold-forming process ensures consistent dimensions batch-to-batch, preventing noise from the start.
Our product meets SAE J517 and ISO 9001 standards, making it suitable for export to the US and local joint ventures.
Green and Efficient: Over 90% material utilization ensures most steel becomes the final product, not scrap - a major cost advantage for large orders.
For a strong, precise, and safe steering component, choose our one-piece T-shaft.
